In this incredible story, the father wants his family to leave the Amish and is overwhelmed with emotion when his children are severely bullied in a public school. This particular family lived in a strict Amish religion which taught that any form of artistic expression is of the devil. Some Amish are expected to suppress virtually all their emotions. In this story about the upbringing of a boy born with an enigmatic mental disorder, he and his siblings are raised by a mother who cannot embrace them, comfort them or even touch them.
