ALEC (Oliver Jackson Cohen) is a gambling; womanizing bankrupt electrical repairman is living on borrowed time forced to return to his Nova Scotia family home for a year. There he discovers that he may be in possession of a mysterious family "gift" for Healing. He refuses to accept such nonsense, but remarkably, people who come into contact are becoming cured. CECILIA (Camilla Luddington) the beautiful local Vet, together with the whole town are sure Alec is "the one." RICHARD (Jonathan Pryce) a long lost uncle who arranged for his return explains that he has to either accept or reject his gift on the precise moment of his 30th birthday. At a stirring town hall meeting, Alec rejects the gift to the town's dismay.
